How the coating process works
Every part goes through the same steps. Preparation matters as much as the coating itself: a sprayed layer is only as good as the surface under it.
Inspection
We check the part for cracks, earlier repairs and anything that should not be coated, and agree the details with you.
Cleaning
Oil, carbon and old coatings are removed, so nothing sits between the metal and the coating.
Masking
Flange faces, threads and sealing surfaces are masked, so the part fits as before.
Grit blasting
Blasting takes the part to bare metal and gives it the rough profile a sprayed coating needs to hold on.
Metal bond layer
A metal bond layer is sprayed first. It anchors the ceramic to the part.
Ceramic layer
Ceramic oxide layers are built up by thermal spray to about 0.3 mm.
Final check
We check coverage and finish, then pack the part for pickup or shipping.
Good to know
- Coating does not repair cracks. Damaged parts need to be welded before coating.
- Tell us about sensors, studs and fittings. We tell you what to remove before you ship.
Sending a part by courier
Most parts reach us by courier. It takes three steps.
Send photos and details
Use the form or WhatsApp. Tell us the part, the car or engine, and anything we should know, such as cracks or earlier repairs.
Pack and ship the part
Once you accept the quote, remove sensors, gaskets and heat shields, pack the part well and ship it with any courier.
Get it back coated
We coat the part and send it back to you, or you pick it up in Riga.
Shipping address
We send the shipping address together with your quote.
Packing tips
- Wrap flanges and threads so they cannot be damaged in transit.
