What is a thermal barrier coating?
A ceramic layer that slows down heat moving through a part. Ours is metal-ceramic: a metal bond layer and ceramic oxide layers applied by thermal spray.
How much does ceramic exhaust coating lower the temperature?
About 30% lower surface temperature at 0.3 mm coating thickness is typical. The exact result depends on the part, the material and how the engine is used.
Is this the same as ceramic coating for car paint?
No. Paint-protection ceramic coatings are thin, glass-like layers for bodywork. We coat hot engine and exhaust parts with a heat barrier.
Which parts can you coat?
Exhaust manifolds and headers, turbo housings, downpipes, intake manifolds, piston crowns, brake pad backing plates and shims, motorcycle exhausts and other hot engine parts. Send a photo if you are not sure.
How is it different from high-temperature paint or thin-film ceramic coatings?
High-temperature paint is mostly cosmetic. Thin-film ceramic coatings are sprayed and oven-cured to well under 0.05 mm, which is good for colour and corrosion protection. A thermal-spray coating is about 0.3 mm thick and insulates more.
Can I send parts by courier?
Yes, from the Baltics, the rest of the EU and Scandinavia. Ask for a quote first; we send the shipping address with it.
Can I drop off a part in Riga?
Yes, by arrangement. Call or message us to agree on a time.
How long does coating take?
It depends on the part and the current queue. We confirm the timeline with your quote, before you send anything.
Can a cracked or rusty manifold be coated?
Rust comes off during grit blasting. Cracks must be welded before coating, because the coating does not close a crack.
Do I still need exhaust wrap?
No. A coating insulates the pipe without holding moisture against it, and it does not fray or need replacing.
